NC Pre-K

NC Pre-K is a state-funded Kindergarten Readiness Preschool Program for eligible children who reach four years of age on or before August 31st of the current school year. The program follows the public school calendar, and starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 2:30 PM Monday – Friday. The teachers hold a North Carolina License in Birth through Kindergarten. The program focuses on Kindergarten Readiness in a developmentally appropriate environment. The focus would be targeting: approaches to play and learning, emotional and social development, health and physical development, language development and communication and cognitive development. The program offers field trips, literacy visits, and screenings for the children at no cost to parents.

The NC Pre-K Program is designed to provide high quality educational experiences to enhance school readiness for eligible four year olds.

CHILDREN NEED TO BE PREPARED IN ALL FIVE OF THE DEVELOPMENTAL DOMAINS IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL ACADEMICALLY IN SCHOOL!

Our program addresses each of these domains and is critical to children’s well-being and future success in reading and math as they come to school ready to learn.

The five domains are:

Curiosity

  • Emotional and social development

Teamwork

  • Health and physical development

Motor Development

  • Language development and communication

Reading

  • Cognitive development

Math and Science

  • Parent Involvement

  • Community Engagement

We are now enrolling children for our NC Pre- K Program for School Year 2024-2025.
