College Counseling

Our school counselor provides individualized guidance for 11th-12th grade students. This includes providing information for potential career paths and job qualifications, help establishing future goals, and explaining college course and certificate requirements. In addition, our school counselor will assist the student and parent/guardian(s) in the college application process.

High school juniors will undergo Pre-ACT and ACT preparation and testing in order to identify and improve upon problem areas and testing strategies necessary for collegiate entrance, as well as gainful employment.

11th and 12th grade students who meet eligibility criteria may enroll in FTCC’s High School Connections Program. This free program provides opportunities to accelerate the completion of college certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees, yielding college transfer credits and skills valuable for entry-level jobs. During this process, some students may elect to enter military service, select a trade school, or seek to continue their education in one of our fine NC Community Colleges while they are employed.

Throughout the school year, visits to local college campuses are organized for Trinity’s 12th grade students.

On these trips, the senior class will participate in guided tours, get a glimpse of the experiences of day-to-day college life, and receive valuable information regarding each institution’s programs and unique campus culture.
